Senior Piano Recital:
Mallory performed a Senior Piano Recital on April 22nd, 2018. She performed solo piano works by Rachmaninoff, Haydn and Muczynski, and piano duet repertoire by Debussy, Corigliano and Kapustin with colleague Joseph Stacy (https://josephstacypiano.wixsite.com/josephstacypiano).
The recital concluded with a clarinet duet performed with Mallory's New Horizons clarinet student.

Student Conductors Honors Recital:

Each year, undergraduate students have the opportunity to audition and interview with the instrumental conducting faculty in hopes of being selected to rehearse and conduct a concert band piece for one full concert cycle, in preparation for a concert, named the Student Conductors Honors Recital.

Six students, including Scaife, were selected for this program in 2017, and in turn earned teaching and rehearsal experience with a college wind ensemble.

Dr. Christopher Fisher's Piano Studio:

During her studies at Ohio University, Scaife studied piano under the instruction of Dr. Christopher Fisher, a highly acclaimed piano pedagogue, clinician, and performing artist. Mallory studied several pieces under his guidance, and performed an "All-Brahms Piano Recital" in April 2016, and "An Homage to Frederic Chopin" in March 2017.

Mallory and her duet partner Joseph Stacy were First Prize Winners of the 2018 Graves Piano and Organ competition- Adult Duo Category, held in Columbus, Ohio,

She was selected to perform in the final round of Ohio University's Concerto Competition in 2016, and she received an Honorable Mention for her performance of the first movement of Robert Muczynski's Piano Concerto No. 1.

Her previous piano studies were under the instruction of Dr. Brian Dykstra from the College of Wooster, where she participated in numerous competitions and festivals by the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) and the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA)

The Ohio University Wind Symphony:

Scaife has played the bass clarinet in the Ohio University Wind Symphony since the Fall of 2015. The group is under the direction of Dr. Andrew Trachsel. She has performed on several concerts, including repertoire such as "Symphonic Dances from West Side Story" by Leonard Bernstein and David Maslanka's Symphony No. 4.

 

This ensemble was provided the opportunity to record two albums, Color + Light in the winter of 2015, and Ampersand in 2018. Mallory plays bass clarinet on both of these albums.

 

In February 2017, she traveled to New York City to make this ensemble's premiere in Carnegie Hall. They collaborated with the Canadian Brass and Broadway Star Denee Benton.

The Ohio University Marching 110:

Mallory played Bb clarinet in the Ohio University Marching 110 from 2014-2018. Also known as "The Most Exciting Band in the Land", the Marching 110 has received international recognition for its entertaining half-time shows during football games. With the band, she has performed at college football games, as well as the halftime shows for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns during her time with the band.

 

Notable performances include those at the Eiffel Tower and the Beaches of Normandy in France, bowl game halftime shows in 2015 (Camellia Bowl), 2016 (Dollar General Bowl) and 2017 (Bahamas Bowl), on The Today Show in New York City, and the 2017 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

 

Mallory served as a clarinet music section leader for her last two years in the Marching 110. Her duties included teaching all music at clarinet sectionals and maintaining discipline within the section.

Dr. Rebecca Rischin's Clarinet Studio:

Miss Scaife took three years of B-flat clarinet and bass clarinet lessons under the instruction of Dr. Rebecca Rischin. She played bass clarinet in the Ohio University Clarinet Choir from 2016-2018.

Ohio University's Choral Union:

Under the direction of Dr. Paul Mayhew, Mallory performed in Ohio University's community choir, Choral Union in the spring of 2015 and 2016. During this time she studied and prepared major works such as John Corigliano's Fern Hill and Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
